An endlessly curious character who has coauthored publications in three separate academic disciplines, R. S. Markel rediscovered his passions for writing and illustrating on the approach of his avid book-loving daughter’s sixth birthday. So enamored was she with the stories he would invent and the piles of books gathered from their walks to the local library that he decided to write a short story with a meaning- ful message to present to her as a special gift. After sitting down to write, the proverbial floodgates were released. In little more than eleven weeks he had written a 105,000 word novel, Lillybeth and Hinsberth: The Edges of Things, and has continued to chronicle life on The Farm ever since with Lillybeth and Hinsberth: The Essence of Things, and his newest book, Lillybeth and Hinsberth: The Shores of Forever. He sincerely hopes readers both young and young at heart will be delighted and inspired while sharing the adventures of his cast of feathered and furry characters.
